Spring Planting Workshop 1: Peas, Potatoes, and Garbanzos
When: Sunday, February 23rd 2:00-4:00pm
It is planting time in Las Cruces! This workshop will focus on planting cold-hearty early spring crops using Regenerative Agriculture practices. Come and learn about the "No Dig" potato method from seed to harvest. We will also cover growing legumes such as garbanzo bean (aka chickpeas) and planting peas (snow peas, snap peas, English peas) for our region. Please come prepared to get dirty as the workshop emphasizes a hand-on learning experience! Bring a sun hat and gloves.
Spring Planting Workshop 2: Spring Salad & Root Vegetables
When: Sunday, March 1st 2:00-4:00pm
Using Regenerative Agriculture practices, the spring crop planting series continues with planting a salad garden with root vegetables from seed to harvest. Crop focus for this workshop include: cabbage, Swiss chard, kale, lettuce, collards, beets, carrots, turnips, and tomatoes for our growing region. Please come prepared to get dirty as the workshop emphasizes a hand-on learning experience! Bring a sun hat and gloves.
